We are looking for a highly motivated Communications Intern who is an independent, flexible, and innovative leader. We are in the process of building out our organization and are looking for an intern who can help us develop and manage our communication strategy. This includes social media, along with general PR and our newsletter. We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in others’ lives and is able to collaborate with our team.
We are looking for applicants who are interested and passionate about the environment, underserved communities, and of course, water.
Because the Water Emissaries team is small, interns have the opportunity to work intersectionally with all team members and on various projects. The job title is the frame of reference for your work. Tasks associated with the communications internship include:
Creating social media content and strategies
Working with the team to design the newsletter and bi-monthly content
Promotion of the organization, identifying partnership opportunities
Communicating to different channels of people interested in the program (including students, mentors, and business professionals)
Skill Requisites:
Proficient in Google Suite
Passion for environmentalism and water equity
Preferred Communications or Environmental Science Major
Excellent communication skills
Previous experience managing budgets/fundraising
Strong attention to detail
Ability to collaborate and strategize with team members
